Birthdays galore
In but nine short days, it will be my birthday, and I plan to mark the occasion with the eating of food. This weekend, however, it’s my grandfather’s 97th birthday (fun fact: my original projected due date was on his birthday, but I guess I wasn’t fully cooked so it was pushed up a week – I was also a planned C-section). My grandfather suggested that we celebrate our birthdays together, so that’s what we’re going to do! My mother is making pot roast as we are both fans of meat that’s been cooked to “falling apart” doneness. I’m pretty excited!
Today, I go get my monthly round of steroids to keep my MS under control. Less fun. The last couple of times, I’ve gotten pretty sick afterwards. I tolerate them pretty well, but last month was particularly bad. I also think I’ve put on a bit of weight, which is a bummer because while I’ve not lost more, I was at least maintaining a 50-pound loss. Grah! In closing, here’s a neat old-looking ad from the multiple sclerosis society of New Zealand. I dig this.
In other news, I’m looking to use NaNoWriMo as motivation for finishing up the crummy comic that I want to sell at this year’s Anime Boston. That’s all I’ve got to say on that at the moment.
